The current is slowly adjusted from low to high until the patients feels a tolerable amount of stimulation. If the patient adapts to the stimulation after one or two minutes, the current may be increased accordingly.

You will have twitching, vibrating, numbing sensation in the muscle or around the needle area while the current is on. Generally, the time period for applying current is ten to twenty minutes for each treatment.
