Does acupuncture hurt? 9 Months ago

I'm suffering from arthritis and I have some friend that say I should try acupuncture. Though, I'm afraid of needles. Do the acupuncture needles hurt?

You will experience a brief pinch like sensation as the needle penetrates the skin. The sensation is then sometimes followed by a tingling feeling. Some people report a strong pull, numbness, warmth, or heaviness while the needle is inserted.
If you are sensitive to acupuncture or ‘needle-phobic’ your acupuncturist can use thinner needles and be gentler. It is important to let your acupuncturist know immediately so that they can make you more comfortable.
