 Christian Østensen is a licensed Acupuncturist in New York and National Board Certified by NCCAOM in Acupuncture and Chinese herbology.
Mission: The main focus in my practice is to use natural
alternatives to drugs for various diseases creates a lasting positive
impact in patients' lives. As a traditional Chinese medical
practitioner, I encourages patients to live in accordance with the
natural biomechanics of the body and to pursue a path to peace and
happiness.
History: I was raised in an artistic and athletic environment in Norway. From the suburban childhood in Kolstad, Trondheim, I went to become an performance artist after graduating from Norwegian National College of Dance. After eight years of professional movement studies with emphasis on anatomy, training and nutrition I decided to branch of into my second carrier of Chinese medicine. The way Asian medicine and philosophies look at health and well being attracted my attention.
Education: My life journey has taken me through three colleges -- Trondheim College of Engineering, The Norwegian National College of Dance, and Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.After graduating from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2003 I started my practice in Greenwich Village (Union Square).
